FRONTLINE PROTECTION WORKSHOPS

PUBLIC WORKSHOPS FOCUSED ON THE NEEDS OF HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, RETAIL & IN-HOME WORKERS

We run monthly workshops at Dynamic HQ in Willetton, specifically addressing the Workforce Safety issues experienced by those on the 'frontline' - alternating between Health Workers, Education Staff, Retail and Hospitality Workers and In-Home Services (which includes carers, real estate agents, tradies and others). Why? Because these are the professions most at risk from occupational violence, from clients and / or the public. And they - like everyone else - deserves to be able to work in safety.

Krav Maga is the most realistic Self Defence system in the world. It comprehensively addresses the requirements to keep safe physically, psychologically, morally and legally. Krav Maga does this by breaking the teaching into 4 'pillars': tactical, mental, physical and mental. All are important and only through regular Krav Maga classes will your master the Technical and Physical. So these workshops focus more on the Tactical and Mental - that is, understanding risk, taking precautions to minimise it and mentally preparing for confrontations of all kinds. Each workshop will cover 2-3 of the most common scenarios and effective defences to survive and escape them. We also focus on the legal context of self defence, including variations between your rights as a private citizen and the specific policies of individual workplaces.

THE KRAV MAGA DIFFERENCE

Too often 'self defence' and 'protective behaviours' training for staff focuses excluively on avoidance and de-escalation techniques. It simply fails to recognise that situations can - and frequently do - advance into intimidation, threats and violence.

However, SafeWork Australia is addressing increasing and unacceptable levels of Workplace Violenece. They define that as:

WorkplaCe vioLeNce is any incident Where a person is Abused, thrEatened or aSsaulted in CircuMstances arising oUt oF, or in the course oF, their WorK

Students who have been taught Krav Maga can protect themselves from common threats in the appropriate manner. They know their rights and responsibilities, including to their peers, teachers and their school. A year group who has been taught Krav Maga will demonstrate a more positive group dynamic, reduced violence and better support networks.

WHAT IS THE SCHOOLS PROGRAM?

THE GROWING CURSE OF WORKPLACE VIOLENCE

Workplace Violence is seen by SafeWork Australia as a major and growing issue, partiularly for those profession dealing with the public daily. They define it as:

"WorkplaCe vioLeNce is any incident Where a person is Abused, thrEatened or aSsaulted in CircuMstances arising oUt oF, or in the course oF, their WorK"

And it is at epic levels. Estimates say that up to 95% of Australian nursing staff will experience violence, intimidation or abuse. Over 30% of teachers have experienced violence at work. More than 85% of retail and fast food workers have been abused by customers.

These people are all unarmed, mostly unprotected .. and there to serve society. That's why we decided to start thes dedicated Frontline Protection workshops, targeted at each group. They can be accessed by individual workers seeking the knowledge and skills to stay safe at work, removing the need for workplaces and organisations to book private training.

THE KRAV MAGA DIFFERENCE

Too often 'self defence' and 'protective behaviours' training for staff focuses excluively on avoidance and de-escalation techniques. It simply fails to recognise that situations can - and frequently do - advance into intimidation, threats and violence.

Krav Maga addresses Workplace Violence head-on, giving those that face these dangers the skills and confidence to recognise, avoid, survive and escape from physical attacks.

Students who have been taught Krav Maga can protect themselves from common threats in the appropriate manner. They know their rights and responsibilities, including to their colleagues, workplace and the public they interact with. An individual who has learnt some Krav Maga will be safer, more confident and perform better under stress. A team or organisation which has been taught Krav Maga will demonstrate a more positive group dynamic, reduced bullying and better support networks.

WHAT DO THE WORKSHOPS COVER?

Dynamic Krav Maga Frontline Protection workshops are for workers in specific high-risk groups.  Each workshop includes:

  • An industry-focused checklist for compliant policies and procedures (so individuals can understand the rights and responsibilities of their organisations and themselves)

  • Tactical aspects such as managing space

  • Physical defences for 2-3 common scenarios

  • Protective behaviours to assist other vulnerable people ...

  • Plus an opportunity to raise your specific concerns and questions.

The sessions are fun, dynamic . . . and realistic, practical self defence.

We aim to hold the workshops at a time suitable to most in that profession. For example, Teachers' Workshops are after school to allow attendance. The workshops are held in our premises in Willetton, Perth.

At just $75 per individual (per 2 1/2 hour workshop), this represents exceptional value for frontline workers wanting realistic Self Defence training. Organisations may book in up to 4 staff members for a single workshop, but if 5 or more staff members need to attend, will need to book a private training session or course.
