Krav Maga - the Ultimate SElf Defence for WOMen

Have you ever walked into a room full of women learning Self Defence? The main things you will notice are smiles, laughter and hugs. When women learn together - particularly something confronting that makes them conquer their inner fears - it is a very supportive, fun and empowering atmosphere.

We offer two forms of training aimed at Women: Monthly Workshops (where there are male attackers for realism) and the Fight Like a Girl course, where only women are present (except your instructor - unti we get a female qualified here in WA!)

OUR TRAINING OPTIONS FOR WOMEN

Womens Workshops 1 400 x 500px.jpg

1These Workshops are open to the public and take place on the 4rd Sunday of most months (except December & January).

We circle through the most common scenarios, covering at least 4 specific defences every time.

You should refresh your Self Defence skills at least once a year - and this is the perfect way to do that. Or train more often - training every month is a great way to keep your skills fresh, empower yourself and enjoy the company of great women.

With fabulous door prizes, guest speakers and some brave male DKM students in cameo roles as attackers, these events are not to be missed!

Our 'Fight Like a Girl" course turns conventional wisdom on its head and lets women and girls revel in their own power. This is the ultimate introduction to Krav Maga, and it will change your life for the better.

Building from the basics up, the course covers all common scenarios women in Australia face.

This 10-week course suits groups of 10-20.. Book this course for a group of girlfriends family or colleagues. Aimed at Age 16+ it is even suitable for groups of older High School girls.

Or if you want to access female-only training, you can add your name to our Waiting List - we run the course when enough people want it.

WHY LEARN QUALITY SELF DEFENCE?

You never know what is going to happen - but you CAN predict what might happen, and you SHOULD prepare in advance to be ready if it does. That's the Number 1 reason for women and girls to learn Self Defence - that they want to be able to protect themselves if the worst should happen.

The second - and equally valid - reason, is that mastering Self Defence skills is extremely empowering, giving you the confidence to go out and leave your fullest life and the self believe that comes with knowing YOU ARE YOUR OWN HERO.

Thirdly, we see women who, sadly, DO know what is coming. It's gone from being an IF to a WHEN. Any additional preparation, mental and physical gain, practize and confidence that these women can gain from Self Defence training is a vital factor in their chances of fighting back, escaping and surviving.

THE KRAV MAGA DIFFERENCE

Krav Maga is the most realistic Self Defence system in the world. It teaches the physical, tactical, technical and mental requirements for avoiding, escaping and surviving dangerous attacks. Whether it's the office lech, a drunk boyfriend, stalker or a violent sexual attack, Krav Maga delivers realistic, effective techniques and strategies. Learning to protect yourself and others is an important part of Self Defence training, but equally important is developing the confidence and belief to go out and live your fullest life without fear. For many women, that feeling is a distant memory.

Many women have attended a Self Defence class, often as girls in High School. But there are some serious issues with relying on a single learning experience in the past.

First, like First Aid training, you're not using the skills you've learnt regularly (and if you're lucky, never). Lack of repetition means you will be rusty and not ready should the moment arise. Like an insurance policy, Self Defence knowledge is something that needs to be current EVERY DAY, because it could be needed ANY DAY. And like an insurance policy, it needs to be renewed at least annually so it is current and valid.

Secondly, at Dynamic Krav Maga we often hear alarming tales of people having been to "Self Defence" classes and being TAUGHT THE WRONG THING. We've heard of people being taught to focus on keeping the knife inside them during a stab attack. Commonly, women are taught to throw their keys at an attacker - the self same keys they will then need to get into their car or house and reach safety. Sometimes, it's not wrong, it's just over-complicated. Trust us, you don't want a complicated disarm if you have only basic training and you're attacked - you want a straightforward way to get the attacker off you and get yourself to safety.

Women who have been taught Krav Maga can protect themselves from common threats in the appropriate manner. They know what situations are most dangerous. They recognise the signs that someone is a threat. They learn and practise defences based on the body's natural instincts. They know their rights and responsibilities.

SCENARIOS & DEFENCES

Yes that's right! In sharp contrast to men, women are far more likely to be attacked by someone known to them - most commonly a male partner or ex partner - and in their own home. So all those Self Defence classes you may have been to that focused on dark alleys may have been missing the point - or at least, preparing you only for a subset of the situations you are mostly likely to experience. Our Women's Workshops and Fight Like a Girl course both cover the range of common scenarios, focusing on the ones most likely to affect most women.
